WHAT'S NEW ON THE WEBSITE
- Application for our 2025 Quilt Show is available on the Activities page, under Quilt Show.
- If you make a Quilt of Valor, we'd like you to pin a status label to the back so Troop Support can keep track of them. Labels are on the Community Outreach page, under Troop Support.
- Thanks to intrepid photographer Sue Hoffman, we have pictures of the quilts from our recent quilt show. They are best seen on a computer, where you can look at each group as a slide show. You'll be amazed at what you missed in real life! They're on our new Quilt Show page.
- We've got our budget for the 2024-2025 guild year for you to review before we're asked to vote on it. It's in our Members Only section, a link to the budget is at the top of the page. Contact the president, Linda Jo Miller, or webmaster, Colleen Voet, if you can't remember the password. (While you're there, check out the Member Pictures and send Colleen one if yours is missing!)
VISITING OPPORTUNITY QUILTS
We love to see Opportunity Quilts from other guilds and support them by purchasing tickets. We have lists of who's scheduled to bring their quilt to our guild meetings for the next couple of years on our Contacts page.
FIFTH WEDNESDAY COMMUNITY SERVICE WORK DAY
Our next date will be Wednesday, January 29. 2025, 9 am to 2pm. We meet at the First United Methodist Church at 109 Washington Blvd. Bring your sewing machine and a potluck item; everything else is provided (irons, ironing boards, cutting mats, rotary cutters, thread, kits, pin-basted quilts, etc,). It's a great way to meet other members as well as to contribute to our Community Service effort. Contact: Cathy Urbanus
MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS
We're finishing up membership renewals for the 2024-2025 membership year. You can find a fillable membership form here or more information and the form on our About Us page. If you hadn't renewed by the end of July, you won't be in the new roster, and you will probably get no more newsletters or messages from the Guild.
ZOOM MINI GROUPS
We have a mini group, open to all, that meets via Zoom every Tuesday at 2pm. The group focuses on Missouri Star tutorials. We watch a part, go away to do what Jenny tells us, then come back and watch the next step. We share what we’re working on and have learned a lot of new techniques. Contact: Jen Luton
A second group meets on Zoom on Tuesdays at 4pm - working on Temperature quilts. With a Temperature quilt, you record the high temperature in your area each day of the month. These temperatures are represented by colors you determine in advance. The same Zoom login works for both groups. Contact: Jen Luton
DAY CAMP
Day Camp is scheduled for March 20-23 and October 23-26 this year, at the Lincoln Veterans Memorial Hall. More information is on our Activities Page, Day Camp. Contact: Colleen Voet
MERCY RETREAT
Dates for 2025: Thursday - Saturday, February 20-22 and Friday - Sunday, September 18-21. More information as we get closer. Contact: Shirley Shingara
