ACTIVITIES

Block of the Month

This year's Block of the Month focuses on using a jelly roll.  Additional fabric needed, either for a background or for the setting that Janene has created.  Patterns for a block or two will be provided each month.  Have fun in using those jelly rolls. The cost to participate is $2/month.

Challenge

Each year the RQG presents a competitive quilt challenge to the membership.  A Challenge Quilt is meant to spark creativity and may require members to explore new skills.  Guidelines and specifications are provided months in advance.  In the month of April, participants will present their quilt project to the membership and prizes will be awarded.  The 2026 Quilt Challenge is a self-portrait wall hanging (whimsical or realistic), affectionally called “Hello Gorgeous.”

Zephyr Camp

Quilt Camp is at the Presbyterian Conference Center at Zephyr Point, Lake Tahoe.  We will be going to Zephyr Point September 27 - October 2, 2026 and sewing AND staying at the Tallac Center.

This registration form and deposit are required at the May meeting. Total amount for camp this year is $630 for 6 days, 5 nights at the Tallac Center. We have contracted for 24 campers, but may be able to adjust if there is a waitlist. RQG members will have priority on sign-up and waitlist.

If you have any questions, please contact: Jenny Gedeon or Karen Banta.

Classes & Workshops

From time to time, the guild offers classes, usually through a speaker or member.  A typical class costs $45 (less when taught by a member).  Other guilds in our area also have speakers and workshops that may be of interest to our members, and many welcome non-members in any class that is not full...as do we.  If you belong to another guild, you are welcome to attend any class that is not already full for the same price as one of our members.  Our guild policies regarding workshops can be found here.

UFO Challenge

It's not too late to join the UFO challenge! Your next finished project is due at the April meeting. Every six months we have a drawing for bigger prizes for those of you who have completed at least three UFOs in the previous six months. For the first three projects completed, you will get a ticket for the semi-annual drawing. If you get six or more projects completed, you will get two tickets for the big drawing. We're hoping that helps motivate you to get your projects done! Happy sewing!
