2018 Challenge:  Make a Quilt of Valor

In keeping with the theme of our 2018 Quilt Show, our Challenge this year will be to make a Quilt of Valor.

Due date for Challenge Reveal:  May 16, 2018 guild meeting.  Members will vote on their favorite quilts and prizes will be awarded.

Due date for entry into the Quilt Show:  April 1, 2018

Size:  minimum 60”x72”; maximum 72”x90”

Pattern:  use a commercial pattern or one of your own design.  Avoid full-size flag patterns that might resemble a casket flag.

Fabrics:  use quality, adult-appropriate, 100% quilting cotton.  Avoid juvenile prints and branch-specific (Army, Navy, etc) prints unless the quilt’s recipient is known.  For this Challenge, use patriotic colors.

Batting:  batting should be quality, low loft cotton, cotton blends, polyester, or polyester blends.

Finishing:  quilts must be quilted and bound, and have a (temporary) sleeve sewn on the back so they can be hung for the Challenge and the Quilt Show.
